General settings

This general settings is the default setting in the leave settings and controls some of the most basic calculation settings for your account.

There are two things you'll need to determine in this setting:

  • How do you calculate your leave calculation?
  • When do you want your annual leave cycle start?

1. Define your leave calculation

Monthly basis
By selecting the monthly calculation, leave balances will be allocated to the employees on the first day of every month.
Number of leaves allocated on the 1st day of every month: Leave Entitlement/12

Here is a sample scenario:
Current date: 30-Nov-2018
Leave entitlement: 16 days
Leave calculation: 11/12 * 16 = 14.6

Daily basis

By selecting daily calculation, leave balances will be allocated to the employees every day.

Basic Formula: Leave Entitlement/365

Here is a sample scenario:
Current date: 30-Nov-2018
Leave entitlement: 16 days
Leave calculation: 334/365 * 16 = 14.6

2. Define your annual cycle

An annual leave cycle is a period of 12 months with the same employer, calculated from the employee's commencement of employment, or from the completion of that employee's previous leave cycle.

Annual leave cycle will determine the leave cut-off date. All leave balance will be refreshed when the new cycle begins.

Here is a sample scenario:
You chose January as your Annual Cycle in March 2018
Your next cycle starts on January 2019
Leave entitlement will refresh 1-Jan on the following year
