You can set detailed options for all leave types:
Step 1 - Go to Leave
Step 2 - Click on Settings
Step 3 - Select leave type
Step 4 - Look for Advanced settings
Step 5 - Click on Edit
Step 6 - Click on Save
There are 2 important settings you need to look into in the advanced settings:
1. Earned leave
The earned leave entitles your employees to leave before they can request for leave. You can set detailed options for all leave types. But first, you need to define your leave calculation for earned leave.
Leave calculation | Description |
Monthly basis | Leave balances will be allocated to the employees on the first day of every month. Calculation: Leave entitlement/12 |
Daily basis | Leave balances will be allocated to the employees every day. Calculation: Leave Entitlement/365 |
Here is a sample scenario of monthly basis calculation:
Join date: 1-Jun-2017
Current date: 30-Nov-2018
Leave entitlement: 16 days
Leave calculation: 11/12 * 16 = 14.6
Date leave entitle: 1st every month
Here is a sample scenario of daily basis calculation:
Join date: 1-Jun-2017
Current date: 30-Nov-2018
Leave entitlement: 16 days
Leave calculation: 334/365 * 16 = 14.6

2. Carry forward leave
Employees are allowed to carry forward unused leave to the next cycle if you enable this function. However, it depends on your company policies. Here is how you can enable/disable carry forward leave and set the maximum days:
