[Basic setup](https://help.swingvy.com/knowledge/leave?hsLang=en#basic-setup) # Leave approval settings ## Leave \> Settings A leave approver is able to approve or decline leave applications from employees. At Swingvy, the leave approver is set as the 'Reports to' person (reporting manager) and the Head of Department by default.   In case you need to change the 'Reports to' or Head of Department, here are the steps for you:  Step 1 - Go to HR Hub \> People Step 2 - Click on the "**Manage employees**" button Step 3 - Look for **"Reports to"** to update the reporting manager and look for **"Role**" to update the Head of Department Step 4 - Click on "**Save**"  ![help.swingvy.comhcarticle\_attachments1500002986722set\_reports\_to](https://help.swingvy.com/hs-fs/hubfs/help.swingvy.comhcarticle_attachments1500002986722set_reports_to.gif?width=688&name=help.swingvy.comhcarticle_attachments1500002986722set_reports_to.gif)   There can be up to 3 levels of leave approvers:    1\. Reports to (the reporting manager) 2\. Head of Department 3\.
