Why can't the payroll be reverted?

Admins have the option to revert payroll in two ways:
  1. Step 3 - "Payment & submission" of the payroll page
  2. Selecting the completed payroll from the "Payroll history" menu
However, the feature to revert button is disabled if the payroll for any upcoming month is not at Step 1, "Adjust Payroll".

What does this imply for admins wanting to make adjustments?

To revert payroll for a current or previous month, such as September 2023, all future monthly payrolls, starting with October 2023, must be at Step 1, "Adjust Payroll". This requirement ensures that no conflicting adjustments are made to subsequent payrolls that could affect overall calculations, especially the statutory portion.

Once every future payroll is set at Step 1, the functionality to revert a past payroll, such as September 2023, will be enabled.

This means that admins must first revert the October 2023 payroll before making any changes to September 2023. By adhering to this procedure, payroll admins can ensure that all payroll adjustments are correctly and systematically managed.

Note:

  1. Admins can only revert Ad hoc/Mid-month payroll, if Monthly payroll is at step 1
  2. It is recommended to download the payroll report before reverting the payroll for future reference purposes
